Hi all

Have taken a look through some old posts here about builds and HDDs, and this is more a general question I guess rather than looking for specific advise.

When building a HTPC and trying to keep it quiet, is there a big difference in 7200 vs 5400 rpm drives? Some people say yes, others say not noticeable. I guess its hard to say exactly as some have differing expectations when i comes to noise levels :D

But in my own case, as I will only be using my HTPC for playing 1080p movies, I dont think HDD performance will really come into at all. So in that sense, would I be silly not to go with 5400 or 5900rpm drive? Or is there something else major I would be missing out on with a 7200 HDD? (for moment anyway, will just have 1 2TB drive that will be using for my OS as well as storage, will look at adding another 2TB drive further down line)
